Drive to Agumbe - Western Ghats
The drive to Agumbe is exceptionally beautiful! It is about 20 kms from the farmhouse. Located on a mountain pass that connects the plains of Karnataka with the coastal region, Agumbe is covered with verdant forests, sparkling streams and little cascades, making the region in the Western Ghats virtually a Garden of Eden.
Once you get to Agumbe, there are many places to visit in Agumbe:
Sunset View Point: Being the highest peak of the Western Ghats, it gives a mesmerizing view of the sun surrounded by the Western Ghats with dark clouds, dipping into the Arabian Sea. It also has multiple falls, Jogigundi falls, Onake Abbi falls.


Kudlu Theertha Falls
Kudlu Theertha Falls or KoodluTheertha falls is a beautiful waterfall located near Hebri on Udupi-Agumbe Road in Karnataka. Nestled amidst the dense forest of the Western Ghats and adjacent to the Agumbe ranges the waterfall is the first fall of the River Sita. It is also known as Sita Falls.
The waterfall is known to be one of the most beautiful and most pristine falls in Karnataka by all standards.
The Koodlu Theertha is a spectacular waterfall that descends from a height of about 300 feet. It plunges straight into a pond. Legend has it that thousands of years ago sages used to meditate near the place where the pond exists today. As such, the local people consider the water of the pond to be very holy.
Another famous one called , Jomlu Theertha Falls is about 10 kms from Hebri.
Varanga Jain Temple
This unique age old Jain temple is located in the middle of a lake with stunning backdrop view of a hill and lush greenery all around. It is 10 minute from the homestay. You can take a boat ride from the edge of the lake to the temple. You can also go to Anekere temple which is a few minutes drive from the location.


Udupi
Udupi is only about 30 kms away from the homestay and very famous for its temples and cuisine, including the huge, 13th-century Sri Krishna Temple, which houses a statue of Lord Krishna and attracts many pilgrims. Nearby, the ancient Anantheshwara Temple is dedicated to the god Shiva.
Malpe Beach
The Malpe Beach is located in Udupi and very famous for its endless beaches, beautiful coastal drives. You also have St Mary's island close by and also the recent Sea Walk Bridge. There are many other beaches around like Kaup Beach, Delta Beach, Panambur Beach, Hoode Beach.


Manipal
Manipal is mostly known as campus town because of the presence of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education. Attracting thousands of students and faculties from over 60 countries, Manipal is one of the most cosmopolitan areas in the region and filled with excellent restaurants.
Situated atop a plateau, Manipal offers picturesque vistas of the Arabian Sea on one side and the Western Ghats on the other.
